General questions

Yes, the basic service is free. In fact, you don't even have to create an account with us to create and use a digest. There are also premium plans available with access to additional features.
Can I use Feedo Style to syndicate news headlines on my website?
Yes you can. With Feedo Style it is really easy to syndicate news feeds from other sites on your pages. Simply find the feed you want to syndicate, go through the Create Digest Wizard to create your Feedo Style, copy and paste the resulting code in your web pages and you are done.
What are RSS, RDF or ATOM feeds?
RSS, RDF or ATOM feeds (or XML feeds) are an XML-based formats for content distribution. News, information, enterprise applications and weblogs (blogs) can all be published with XML feeds. Feedo Style leverages these feeds by constantly scanning the content of a website for updates and then broadcasting those updates to your website (and to it's visitors) through personalized tickers.
Where can I find RSS, RDF or ATOM feeds?
The most popular formats of XML feeds are RSS, RDF and Atom, and you can find them on virtually any website. For example, most of the blogging platforms, news websites like CNN, or BBC and news aggregators like Google News expose an RSS, RDF or ATOM feed.
As you will soon find out, feeds are everywhere and chances are even your favorite website publishes a feed (and probably more than one!). All you need to do is copy the link to the feed page and you are set to go!
Can I use Feedo Style on any feed I find?
Most of the feeds are freely available, and can be syndicated on other websites, it is important however that you check with the original publisher to make sure they license their content for this type of use. This is especially important if yours is a commerical site. Many publishers only make their content available for syndication on non commercial sites.

Why does I have to specify my websites?
It's a security reason. Someone could copy your Feedo Style code and steal your impressions. By letting you specify your websites, we can check the source of the request to guarantee that the digest is indeed the one you published on your website. On the other hand, if someone does steal your code, we will simply treat the request as a free anonymous digest and we won't alter your impression count.
I have created my fresh new digest, but its links point to advertisements. Why is that?
If you are a free user, you have to upgrade to one of the premium accounts: Feedo Style Baby, Hipster or Connector. If, however, you have upgraded your account and you still see advertisements you need to add your website to the Website Manager.
If you want to learn more about this Feedo Style feature, read the related faq Why does I have to specify my websites?.
I modified my list of websites, but my digests don't reflect the changes!
The changes will be reflected on the system within two minutes.
Do I have to download or install anything to use Feedo Style?
No, you don't. Feedo Style is a web-based service. All you need to do is create your Feedo Style digest then copy and paste the code into your website or blog.
I created a digest, went on vacation, and now the digest is broken. What happened?
If you create a digest and don't save it to an account, the feed will expire in 14 days. We do this so we can keep server performance at top notch and not spend valuable resources on digests that aren't being used anymore. If you want to make sure your feed doesn't expire, sign up for a free account and add your digest to the account.
